This is not a bad track, and the voice is not bad either. I wouldn't say this is a punk song, sounds more like nu metal to me, so maybe slightly mislabeled. Would you mind posting the lyrics?

jakeghost responds:

Hey Krash17, thanks for listening to and rating the track. I've just added the lyrics to the description but Newgrounds doesn't really have a genre that this perfectly fits into I think so mislabelled it will have to stay!

This song is titled perfectly. You can really feel the anticipation building throughout. Another great job, can't wait to hear more from you.

MeatAnalogue responds:

Thanks :)

I have a meeting tonight and am trying to think of what it is I am going to say. I found your song, put it on, and all the ideas are now coming to me. It really helps me to relax and focus, and it's clear that you put a lot of thought, time, and effort into this. You describe it well in your comments too...there is a definite hopefulness to this piece, but it feels like it is in the face of a serious adversity as well.

I am currently enjoying this as I type. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest as you release them, I'll be following you from now on. Great submission, thanks.

MeatAnalogue responds:

Thank you! I hope you enjoy the rest :)

Man, this was killer. Thought the sound quality was crisp even without the mic you mentioned. Beats were sick too, great stuff man.

Damn, this is...really good. Really picks up and gets awesome at 1:16. Great stuff man, you aren't really leaving are you? What kind of malarkey is that?

I was really digging this. Nice beat, can imagine myself sitting by a window with the rain falling in the middle of the day. The middle break, as you mentioned, is kind of awkward, but I'd really love to hear this when it is all worked out. I really would have liked to hear a little more build-up, and like others, I really wanted the song to be longer! I feel like you are setting up something great, but it ends fore it gets there. You're one awkward drum interlude and maybe a couple minutes away from a five-star submission in my opinion. Have you accepted any scouting requests yet?

Really love the bluesy feel of this track, especially at the beginning. I would have really enjoyed more of that wailing guitar you had at the beginning. It kind of tapers off for me at around :18 or :19, but the first half had me bobbing my head.

gamejunkie responds:

Thanks for the review, glad you liked it. It's funny I was actually listened to your audio yesterday. I guess I should now leave you a review.

Cheers gamejunkie.

Ha...I wasn't expecting this. This is really cool. Did you use a bunch of people and record it live, or was it just a bunch of recordings of your voice combined together?

Either way, it's clear a lot of effort was put into this. My only beef is that the audio quality could be a little better. Great submission!

I enjoy the part of this track going on in the background. It's simple, it drives the piece, and has sort of an adventurous, hopeful feel to it.

I did not enjoy the overlapping tones, though. It may just be the effect you chose, it feels really harsh to me, and there doesn't seem to be much of a pattern in it, which can be fine I think, but it ends really abruptly which doesn't really lend it to looping well, which is important for an overworld theme I think.

Honestly, I think it just needs a few tweaks. But that's just my ears talking, this is a decent submission, keep it up.

AlxEllis responds:

Thank you for the review :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the cheerful vibe it had going and yes I get what you mean about the occasional clashing, it was tough to make it loop too, it's based on the original 8bit version so when using realistic instrument sounds it becomes a pain >.< but I will hopefully tweak!

Thanks for taking the time to review!

The strong, cracking beats you used makes this remind me of Secret of Mana for SNES... I really enjoyed how you added more and more little details as the song went on, kept it from seeming too repetitive. I found myself wanting it to go on, maybe hit a crescendo and a key change.

I can't help but tap my foot when I'm listening to this, great submission.

Slaun responds:

I'm proud you like this little track !
Thank you very much !
I always try to make my music as catchy as possible. It may be the heritage of my passion for Sonic's soundtracks.

Be excellent to each other.
